Situated just off the A66, 5 miles west of Cockermouth on the
Cumbrian west coast in the village of Great Clifton, this popular
and welcoming accommodation, formerly a 17th century farmstead,
offers guests a great location from where to explore the Western
Lake District and the beautiful Solway Coast.
Rooms here at the 4 Star Old Ginn House Inn are very comfortable,
tastefully furnished and spacious, containing modern en suite
facilities. Rooms are situated over the courtyard away from the main
bar and restaurant.
The bar is unique and full of character and a great place to relax
and unwind. It is round in shape, this is due to the fact that it
was previously used as the area where the horses would turn a large
grindstone to grind the crops, this is known as “Ginning”.
The restaurant serves a selection of delicious home cooked plus
cosmopolitan meals in a comfortable and informal mediterannean style
setting, with special attention paid to delivering a quality
service.
On request the restaurant can be used for business meetings.
